Prof.Saikat Sen, Director, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Integral Management,Puducherry was the guest speaker on the Seminar. The programme was attended by Joint Secretaries and Directors of various departments of Govt. of India. ShriT.N.Chaturvedi, Chairman of IIPA also attended and graced the function.
Prof.Sen explained the Relevance of Consciousness in Today’s Business, the concept of Integral Leadership through audio-visual presentation. The participants were helped to understand the fundamental principles of the integral approach to Leadership, to visualize and workout the methods of practice and implementation. He explained that an organization is made of human beings. Whatever hard or soft goals it has to achieve, whether it is productivity or profit, ethics, quality or customer satisfaction has to be achieved by human beings. And the essence of a human being is consciousness. All the human potentialities for achievement, success or excellence lie in human consciousness. The habitual tendency of the modern leader is to rely more on externals like technology, management techniques, consultants and organizational “transformations.” As a result much of the hidden human potentialities in the intuitive, moral, aesthetic and spiritual realms, which can lead to a better bottom line as well as a higher quality of life, remain untapped in the modern corporate world.
The concept of “Leadership by Consciousness” is well received by the Govt. officials and actively participated in the question and answer session. In the concluding speech Shri Chaturvedi highly appreciated the effort of SAFIM and discussed the need for this kind of seminar in Government organizations.
