10th meet of South Asian Network for Impact Masters (SANIM), an initiative of UNCTAD was held on 18th January 2018 at TISS campus, Mumbai. Institute heads from all parts of the country and from SAARC countries took part in the meeting. Social entrepreneurs and practitioners also took part in the meeting which aimed at building network of business schools for South Asian Region to encourage B schools to adopt various elements of social immersion as part of their regular curriculum to encourage students to be elements of social change and sustainable development. Professor Satyajit Majumdar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), who coordinated the meeting, emphasized on the need to create a virtual network which help in developing regional impact programme as an offshoot of UNCTAD GIM. Ten subjects with social impact were developed and are available to the b-schools for incorporating in their curriculum. Action plan included strengthening collaboration within the network by using more of available technology to share resources and capabilities amongst its members.
Rupa Saha represented SAFIM, an initiative of Sri Aurobindo Society, Puducherry in this meet and presented SAFIM’s course on ‘Future Leader’s Programme’ which is being successfully conducted in various institutes and which includes experiential project-based programs to provide social immersion to professional B-school students. The details of the course will be shared within the SANIM network.
